A word about Non-Native (or Exotic) animals...
Exotic animals may seem like really neat pets, but they can wreak havoc on our environment if they are either accidentally or intentionally released. Many of these animals will kill our native species and turn end-over-end the ecology of an area.
We receive many non-native species and we are restricted (for obvious reasons) from releasing them. They become a drain on our resources and a problem in finding new homes for them, hoping only that they won't be re-released to cause problems again in another area. If you feel you must have one of the exotic animals, please do ALL the necessary research so that you won't become frustrated with their care and release them in a seemingly "perfect" location.
